The worst horror stories in the version of M. C. Parfenova

It is believed that for the horror genre is best suited to short form. Indeed, the very phrase “scary story” involves more of a story than a fat novel. And although the great novels of horrors there are a lot, but, let’s say horror epics a La “War and peace” or “Lord of the rings” you will not find neither in the movie nor in the literature (though the horror element can be detected in the same “Game of thrones”).

As you probably know, I have for several years engaged in the preparation of genre anthologies, collections of short stories mostly contemporary Russian authors, mostly for the series “the worst book” (although not only), which recently released the next volume – and this is my own author’s collection with the telling title “Zone of terror”. In the book (which you can buy, say, here, here or here – Yes, it’s brash self-praise), again, collected a couple of novels and a small selection of stories. And so I thought it may be interesting top stories that managed to scare me, fortunately I read hundreds and thousands of cool stories and I really have to choose from.

Some of these stories may be well known to you, but you’ll probably hear for the first time. Some of you will not seem any dreadful – still need to make allowances that read horror, I started in grade school and then, of course, to make me shiver it was easier. Surely you have something to add to this top, so curiously waiting for your comments.

And Yes, in my personal top did not get any story by H. p. Lovecraft. What to do, I his short stories never really scared. But this is a matter of individual perception. So here they are –
