The plane crash and loss of life is always a surprise and a shock.
But some catastrophe, the mind refuses to accept, and for weeks and months after the incident even absolutely extraneous people feel fear and cold in the chest, when talking about them. These crash – one of them.
The death of the Polish President
April 10, 2010 plane TU-154 with Polish President on Board crashed near Smolensk. None of those on Board survived. Among the passengers were the President of Poland Lech Kaczynski flew to Russia to visit the memorial in Katyn, his wife, several high-ranking officers of the Polish armed forces, of 18 members of the Polish Parliament and President of the National Bank of Poland. From the beginning it has been many conspiracy theories claiming that the death of the President of Poland was not accidental, but the official investigation concluded that the accident was the result of pilot error in bad weather.
The accident flight 2933 – the death of Brazilian football team
28 November 2016 the Brazilian football team “Epicoene” flying flight airline LaMia in Medellin on match with the local players. However, the aircraft has not reached its destination, crashing on the ground not far from medellín. The disaster, considered the largest in the history of football, survived only three players. Many of the legends of football came to Brazil, to Express condolences to the families of the victims. As it turned out, the accident occurred due to the carelessness of crew members, neglected pre-flight tests for security.
Deadly suicide pilot
24 Mar 2014 the co-pilot of flight 9525 German Lufthansa Andreas Lubitz locked himself in the cockpit and sent the plane down into the mountain. The crash killed 149 people. As revealed in the investigation thus Lubitz decided to commit suicide, taking dozens of innocent people. It turned out that the pilot for six years, had suffered from depression and was being treated for mental illness, and did not have the right to operate civil aircraft! How he managed to pass the medical examination, is still a mystery.
The collision of two “Boeing”
583 people died on March 27, 1977 collision of two “Boeing-747” in the Spanish airport of Tenerife. This incident is considered one of the greatest mass deaths in the history of aviation. It all happened because of dispatch error. After reports of bomb planted in the nearby airport of Gran Canaria, all the planes from there were redirected to Tenerife. Alas, the airport has a single runway and one taxiway lost traffic. Due to errors in communications between pilots and controllers two aircraft airlines KLM and PanAm collided while driving on the tracks. Only 61 people of the two aircraft survived the incident.
The disaster over Ermenonville
3 March 1974 a Turkish airlines plane, Turkish Airlines crashed in the vicinity of the village Ermenonville near Paris. All 346 passengers and crew members died. As it turned out, the accident occurred due to technical deficiencies in the design of the mechanism of the lock of a door of a cargo compartment. Aircraft type DC-10, these doors did not lock automatically, and according to the instruction they had to close manually. The workers of the Paris airport, however, failed to read the instructions nor in English nor in Turkish, and didn’t lock the door to the end. As a result, in flight one of the doors was opened, which led to explosive decompression and the plane just broke up in the air.
The catastrophe of 11 September
11 September 2001 was not just a major terrorist attack, but also the largest series of plane crashes in the history of mankind. Flight 11 of American Airlines and flight 175 United Airlines – two planes crashed into the twin towers of the world trade center claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people. After the disaster safety rules in all airports worldwide have been further tightened.
Disaster because of the language barrier
In 1996 at the airport in new Delhi faced “Boeing-747” airlines of Saudi Arabia and the Kazakh IL-76. The most ridiculous in this disaster – it only happened because the pilots of the Saudi and Kazakh airlines could not communicate in English. Both flights followed the same path but in different directions, and pilots not able to explain to each other their intentions. It cost the lives of 349 passengers and crew members.
Flight 123 Japanese airlines
In 1985, the “Boeing 747” Japan Airlines followed by flight 123 from Tokyo to Osaka. Suddenly, in the middle of the flight an explosive decompression of the cabin. The pilots kept the plane in the air for 32 minutes, then he finally collapsed to the ground. 520 people died in the crash. As it turned out, the tragedy occurred because of poor repairs carried out at the departure airport.
The loss of the aircraft at fault sixty terrorists
In 1985, the plane of airline of Air India flight 182 EN route from Canada to new Delhi, was blown up by members of the Sikh terrorist group Babbar Khalsa. Killing all 329 passengers and crew members, including 268 canadian citizens, 27 Britons and 24 Indians. The culprit in the tragedy, the leader of the Babbar Khalsa of Inderjit Singh, Raaga searched for almost 20 years. In 2003, he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
The crash of a Turkish aircraft in Kyrgyzstan
16 January 2017 on the territory of Kyrgyzstan crashed plane of airline Turkish Airways. All four crew members were killed. What’s worse, the plane crashed on a residential area killed 35 civilians, including women and children.
The disaster that killed an entire hockey team
7 Sep 2011 the plane YAK-42 hockey team “Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl)” on Board climbed from the runway of Yaroslavl airport “Tunoshna” and headed for Minsk, where players had to take part in the match against the Belarusian athletes. The flight lasted only a few minutes, after which the airliner crashed to the ground. Killed 44 people, only one of the crew members managed to survive. The team is almost entirely killed: all players, all coaches and four players from the youth team. The incident was a tragedy for the entire Russian hockey. The investigation showed that the accident occurred due to illiteracy of the crew.
USAir Flight 427
This accident occurred in 1994. Air flight 427 USAir was flying from Chicago to Pittsburgh. However, the plane crashed, quite a bit before reaching your destination. All 132 people aboard were killed. As it turned out, the plane crashed because of a failure of the rudder. After this tragedy, the Boeing company has allocated an additional $500 million to improve the steering system of their aircraft.
A collision
In 1958, for the first time two passenger planes collided in the air: two aircraft, flying a local flight over the territory of the United States, are unable to disperse in the air. Killing 128 people. It was after this incident the American government thought that the increased air traffic requires stricter safety standards. $250 million has been invested in the improvement of air traffic control in the country, which allowed to save further hundreds of innocent lives.
A mysterious plane crash
In 1996, 230 people died in the crash “Boeing-747” over the United States. The investigation lasted quite long and, in the end, concluded that the collapse occurred as a result of a fire on the wing of the aircraft, which eventually caused the explosion. After that, the company “Boeing” again closely engaged in the safety systems of the aircraft, and soon equip all models produced by the injection of nitrogen into the tanks on the wings. However, many in America claim that technical problems had nothing to do with, and in fact the plane crashed due to the fact that the military accidentally hit by a missile during naval exercises. The army this, of course, does not recognize.
Miracle on the Hudson
This story is forced to gasp all of humanity, although no one died. 15 Jan 2009 the Airbus A-320 shortly after takeoff from JFK due to a collision with a flock of birds, engine failure. Realizing that to return to the airfield will not succeed, the captain, Chesley Sullenberg and co-pilot Jeffrey Scales managed to land the plane on the Hudson river and bring all the passengers out of the cabin onto the wing, where they were picked up approaching the boats. The result is the most serious injury was the broken leg of one of the passengers, obtained as the result of a hard landing.
