In Africa there is still no light.
One billion people on the globe do not have access to electricity. This was during a speech at the world forum in Davos, said the Executive Director of International energy Agency Fatih Birol.
“One billion people on Earth still do not have access to electricity. Africa still do not have electricity, what a shame. Not so long ago was negative and stats in India, but leadership failed and quickly to resolve this issue and to provide access to electricity to hundreds of millions of people,” he said.
Birol also said that the world’s energy future lies in the development, environmental production and energy efficiency in mind.
“And you believe that electricity is the undisputed future of the global energy system for many years in the future. Undoubtedly, we need gas, oil, as well as coal, renewable energy sources and others. But while the world is moving towards electric power”, – said the Executive Director of the International energy Agency.
He also called for a shift to energy production ecological methods, despite its high cost.
