Photo project by French photographer.
Traveling around the world, French photographer Fabrice Paillet (Fabrice Fouillet) has created an impressive series of works called “Colossi”, presenting photos of the large statues.
“What is a monument? History, memory, cultural heritage? Or the outcome of a relay political, religious and military beliefs of a particular time when a particular object was built? Hard to say, but in any case, all these statues have to be flashy, “loud” and still as unique as those symbolic events that they represent. Because later they become not just places of districts and cities, and their integral part. So I tried to take pictures not with the standard tourist spots, and from other angles to show the beauty and greatness of each of them and how they despite their size fit harmoniously into the landscape and the environment.” says Fabrice.
