The world should put pressure on Russia, the Pentagon

The Minister of defense maintains pressure on Russia to implement the Minsk agreements.

The international community must continue to exert diplomatic pressure on Russia for the sake of her compulsion to the implementation of the Minsk agreements. This was stated by the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis.

“As in many other regions of the world, I support diplomatic efforts to cooperate with our partners in NATO and Ukraine continue to put pressure on Russia regarding their Minsk commitments,” said Mattis.

He added that we are talking about an immediate ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons and unhindered access to the conflict zone of the OSCE observers.

Recall, Mattis will arrive in Kyiv on 24 August to celebrate the independence Day, to emphasize the U.S. commitment to the strategic partnership with Ukraine, and also give some tips for capacity building of its forces.
