The awarding ceremony of the winners will be held on August 27 in Drohobych in the Lviv region.
Famous linguist, Professor at the Institute of Slavic studies of the University of Vienna Michael Moser became the laureate of international prize named after Ivan Franko in 2017.
As reported on the website of the Fund of Ivan Franko, the book Moser “a New note to the history of the Ukrainian language” was recognized the best in nomination “For outstanding achievements (achievements) in the field of Ukrainian studies”.
In the nomination “For outstanding achievements in the field of socio-humanitarian Sciences” recognized the winner of the honorary Professor of the Lviv national University named after Ivan Franko Oleg Shabliy with its scientific work “Social geography”.
Winners of the award named after Ivan Franko will receive a cash reward (this year’s prize Fund is 500 thousand hryvnia) and the gold badge of the winner. The awarding ceremony of the winners will be held on August 27 in Drohobych in the Lviv region.
Winners were determined on 24 June at the meeting of the jury of the Ivan Franko prize in the Institute of Slavonic studies of Vienna University. This year the jury consisted of 12 scientists from universities of Ukraine, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland and the United States.
International prize named after Ivan Franko founded the international Fund of Ivan Franko in 2015. The annual award is an honorary recognition of scientific discoveries, significant achievements and significant achievements of scientists in the world in the field of Ukrainian studies and socialno Sciences and Humanities. The initiator of creation of the Fund was the grandson of Ivan Franko – Roland Franco.
