About these photos is little known today.
In 1930, the father of Salvador Dali, unable to bear the blasphemous antics of the son, put him out of the house, and a few months of the great surrealist acquired the former fishing shack near the secluded village of Port lligat on Spain’s Costa Brava. He paid the 20,000 francs which he had received from the Viscount de Naila in advance for the painting “the old Age of William tell”..
In 1955, this house was visited by photographer Charles Hewitt (Charles Hewitt). He called for Given to make a series of images for the upcoming Picture Post (editorial magazine published in Britain from 1938 to 1957) the publication of “One day with Salvador Dali”. The artist never missed an opportunity effectively to show off in front of an audience, boldly posed for the camera.
