The Syrian army has suspended military operations in Aleppo.
The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Syrian army has suspended military operations in Eastern Aleppo.
According to Lavrov, the fighting paused for the largest withdrawal from this part of Aleppo civilians.
“Today the active fighting of the Syrian army in Eastern Aleppo is suspended, as is the next and largest in all this time, the operation to evacuate civilians from East Aleppo,” Lavrov said.
Lavrov asserts that the alleged “will display a column of 8 thousand people, and the route it – 5 km.”
In recent days, the army of Bashar Assad, supported by Russia, forced the rebels to withdraw from the Old city in the Eastern part of Aleppo. Thus, the rebels lost control over most of the previously occupied areas of the city.
