In Transcarpathia bloomed “Lavender castle”.

As told by local historian Fedir Shandor, fragrant purple carpet became the new attraction, which has all chances to be included in the list of flower “highlights” of Transcarpathia.
“A new and elegant location – lavender in the Uzhgorod castle. That is no coincidence, because in his time the castle was owned by counts Drugets, who was of French-Italian origin. In fact, few shrubs, a symbol of Provence, the castle grow for a few years, but more mass is still exotic for us, the flower got here this year,” said Sandor.
He called this flower the “action” in the Uzhgorod fortress “Lavender castle” and noted that it is the largest lavender location in Transcarpathia. As you know, lavender is not only used in perfumes but also in cooking – as a tea, spice, marinade meat, syrups and cakes and the like. It not just smells good but also has long been known as an antiseptic. In late summer, as the aromatic raw material is not harvested flowers and stems with leaves of lavender when the plant will begin to wither.
