The United States has ceded the title of most competitive economy in the world Singapore, according to the rating of the Swiss business school IMD.

USA went down to third place, having held the first position for one year. According to the authors, the main reasons why the American economy so quickly ceased to be the most competitive in the world, are to increase fuel prices, the weakening of high-tech exports and the fluctuation of the dollar.

The top ten most competitive economies fell in Hong Kong, Switzerland, UAE, Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden and Qatar. Russia is located on the 45th place in the list.

According to the rating, annually compiled by the world economic forum (WEF), in 2018, Russia has occupied 43-e a place, and in the first position were the United States.
