The U.S. Embassy in Moscow has resumed issuing visas, which was suspended in connection with the downsizing of the us diplomatic mission in Russia.
“The visa issuance process was resumed on 1 September. We still have enough consular staff to this work in our Embassy, so we are not so processed applications for the issuance of visas”, — said Nauert.
Earlier, Moscow has ordered to reduce the U.S. diplomatic mission in Russia to 755 to 455 employees. Thus, Russia has equated the number of employees of the U.S. Embassy in Russia, the number of employed in the Russian diplomatic mission in the United States.
In turn, Washington from August 23rd to suspend the procedure for issuing nonimmigrant visas throughout Russia. From September 1 this procedure was to be resumed, but only at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
