The US does not support the freezing of Crimea, Walker

In the state Department claim that not see a difference between the occupation of Donbas and annexation of Crimea.

To freeze the return of annexed Crimea under a Ukrainian control in the United States do not intend to. In an interview with Deutsche Welle said the special representative of the US state Department for the Affairs Kurt Volker.

“I don’t agree with it. I don’t see the difference between the Russian invasion and occupation of Crimea and the Donbass. In addition, in the case of Crimea, the Russians also declared the annexation of this territory, not only her occupation but also her assignment. I don’t think we should accept or to legitimize any of these actions,” said Walker, commenting on the proposal of the Chairman of the German liberal Free democratic party (FDP) Christian Lindner to freeze the issue of returning Crimea to Ukraine.

Walker added that the purpose of Washington’s progress in establishing peace and Ukrainian sovereignty in the Donbass and the return of Crimea to Ukraine.

“We need to make progress on all fronts,” said Walker.

He stressed that progress in one direction should not directly depend on progress in another.
