The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on change of the name of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate is populistim and difficult. On Thursday, December 20, said the head of the information Department of the UOC-MP, Archbishop Clement.
“The deputies themselves do not fully understand how this bill will be to bring to life, this is only a populist move that would be virtually impossible to implement,” he said.
Clement explained that this law has nothing to do with the UOC-MP, as its religious centre (Department) of the administrative is not in Russia, and in Kiev.
“The fact that the administrative facilities of our Church to the Russian Orthodox Church does not exist as stated in the Charter (UOC – ed.) that is registered with the Ukrainian government,” – said the Archbishop.
In a turn, ROC the law is considered “gross interference” in religious life the decision.
