The United States did not rule out the possibility of direct talks with the DPRK

USA will try to resolve the issue with the DPRK through diplomatic channels.

The United States did not rule out the possibility of direct talks with the DPRK, said Deputy Secretary John Sullivan at the UN General Assembly.

“Of course, we do not exclude the possibility of direct talks with North Korea,” he said.

According to the American diplomat, the US attention is focused on diplomacy.

“However, in the event of the failure of diplomacy we and our allies in Japan, South Korea and other countries need to be prepared for the worst”, – he concluded.

Earlier, the Deputy permanent representative of the DPRK to the UN Kim In Ryong said the situation on the Korean Peninsula has reached “critical point”and at any moment could start a nuclear war.
