Reporters figured out what’s going on with the international women’s day in Ukraine
This year the celebration of March 8 was under threat: the Ukrainian Institute of national remembrance published the text of the draft law “On state and other holidays, anniversaries and sorrowful days.”
If it will, the Ukrainians will leave only 9 official holidays which will be days off. In particular, the 8 March – international women’s day will be no more weekends.
Output in Ukraine is proposed to make the following days: Shevchenko day – 9 March; Day of remembrance and reconciliation – may 8; Constitution Day – June 28; independence Day of Ukraine – August 24; family Day – the second Friday of September; the Day of defender of Ukraine on October 14.
On the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ukrainians are invited to join in the discussion of the draft law and to make proposals before March 1, 2017.
Whether 8 March day off in 2017?

Now international women’s day is annually celebrated in the former Soviet republics, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan (where he renamed mother’s Day), Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Belarus.
Also on March 8 is celebrated in China, Angola, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Zambia, Cambodia, Laos, China, Congo, Macedonia, Nepal, Mongolia, North Korea, Uganda.
