The Ukrainian foreign Ministry expressed protest in connection with Putin’s visit to Crimea

МИД Украины выразило протест в связи с визитом Путина в Крым The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol are an integral part of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed its protest in connection with another uncoordinated with Ukraine visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin in occupied Crimea.

The foreign Ministry stressed that the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol are an integral part of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, recognized by the entire international community.

“Ukraine considers this visit and any so-called visits of Russian officials to the territory of temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol (Ukraine) is a gross violation of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, cynical and defiant disregard of the Russian party of the generally recognized principles and norms of international law”, – said the diplomat.

August 4, Putin arrived in the annexed Sevastopol, where they visited the Opera festival in Chersonesos.

The Autonomous Republic of Crimea was illegally seized from Ukraine in the spring of 2014 as a result of planned Moscow a special operation to total destabilization of the country after the revolution of Dignity. The Verkhovna Rada official start date for the occupation of the Peninsula by the troops of the Russian Federation was established on 20 February 2014.
