Obolonskiy district court of Kyiv has postponed until June 29 the matter of fact the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, accused of treason. This was stated by the presiding judge Vladislav Devyatko.Today’s meeting lasted only 35 minutes.
The Prosecutor’s office asked the court to grant the petition for in absentia proceedings.
“The prosecution believes that to attract Yanukovych to criminal liability in separate proceedings should exercise special judicial proceedings. Given the above, and add to the application copies of the materials of the individual production, which is confirmed by the fact that the accused knew or should have known about the beginning of a separate section of three pages. Respected court, I ask you to satisfy this request and decide on the implementation of the special court proceedings in the separate proceedings on charges of Yanukovych,” – said the attorney General’s office Ruslan Kravchenko.
The presiding judge Vladislav Devyatko said that the court had to postpone the meeting.

On the occasion of the release of Yanukovych in connection with the court, the lawyer said that everything will depend on the Obolon court of Kyiv. According to him, the Rostov court confirmed the possibility of release on bond if the court in Kiev, under the European Convention, will send the documents to the Ministry of justice of Ukraine, which shall send the relevant documents to the Federation for the organization of video conferencing. In this case, according to him, Yanukovych will take part in the trial via video link.
