The day’s break at the next flat stage is formed immediately after the start of the race. To move forward decided Maciej Bodnar (Bora-hansgrohe), Marco Marcato (Team UAE Emirates) and Frederick Beckert (Wanty – Groupe Gobert).
28 km to go the race, has decided to diversify Bodnar – pole ventured on a solo attack, which almost brought him success. The main group caught up with Bodnar for a few hundred meters to the finish line.
In the sprint showdown once again it was clear Marcel Kittel in the corporate style scored the fifth victory in the “Big loop” and increased his lead in the points classification.
