Former state Duma Deputy and opposition politician Dmitry Gudkov and his team left the “Party of change” (the official name of “Civil initiative”). “Our team has decided to withdraw from the “Civil initiatives” and start preparing for the elections to the state Duma in single-mandate constituencies. We are grateful to Andrey Nechaev for the support of our team. I hope that our decision will allow it more effectively to fight for the preservation of “Civil initiative”, in which we wish him success”, — said Dmitry Gudkov.
“Two years ago we tried to use the last opportunity to slip with the opposition agenda in legitimate party politics. Not to create a new party (it was impossible), but to create it in place of the old, changing the name and updating the team. But the government closed this possibility. We honestly went the way to the end: several congresses, numerous statements, and, finally, the Supreme court, which finally and illegally refused re-registration. You can spend the next 10 congresses, but this is obviously useless. A lawsuit to suspend the activities of the party sue the Ministry of justice, which had a number of complaints to the Charter of the organization. The Ministry refused to register the Charter because of the failure of the Protocol of the last Congress. However, according to representatives of the party, the Protocol to the Ministry of justice was provided. In addition, the Ministry of justice are confident that the six-member party was not properly taken into it.
