Visceral Games doesn’t exist anymore. This was announced by parent company Electronic Arts, the structure of which consisted of the Studio.
In the memory of gamers Visceral remains, of course, due to the atmospheric space-horror Dead Space, which resulted eventually in the series, the continuation of which we no longer seem to see. The game has spawned not only two sequels, but also spin-offs, comics and animated films, expanding and deepening created by the developers of the universe. It seems that in Dead Space have a little bit of everything: “Something”, “Stranger”, “Through the horizon”. In short, a great heady cocktail.
But unfortunately, later games weren’t so profitable. According to Zack Wilson, the former technician of the Studio, the creation of Dead Space 2 was $ 60 million, and it sold 4 million copies, and the bosses of EA considered that this is not enough. Dead Space 3 has been criticized from fans for leaving in the direction of action, the profits of the project, apparently, has not brought, and entered in trikvele microtransactions did not save the situation.
It is known that lately, Visceral Games has been busy developing an unnamed game for Star Wars, but EA was unhappy with the results. In the end, the Studio closed and the project moves to EA Vancouver.
Some employees of Visceral Games will go to other divisions of Electronic Arts, but the other part will have to update their CV for job search.
