3D printing opens new horizons in all spheres of life. Students from the city of Antwerp has created an artificial arm that can perform the functions of the interpreter.
They called it ASLAN. Hand printed 25 parts on a 3D printer. And manages more than 15 servos.
Ultimately, the project will consist of artificial persons, which conveys emotions and two hands showing the gestures.
The authors of the project did not set itself the goal to replace humans, but only to create equipment in order to use it if there is no person-sign language interpreter.
