The state Duma rejected three draft laws on the indexation of payments to working pensioners, who developed the Communist party, LDPR and “Fair Russia”, reports RIA Novosti.
The legislative initiative has not found support neither the government nor the relevant committees of the state Duma and the Federation Council.
One of the bills was introduced by deputies from the Communist party, Oleg Smolin and Nikolai Kolomeitsev in October 2017. According to the authors, in Russia it is necessary to restore the indexation of pensions, since its absence reduces the level of life of pensioners.
A similar project introduced in the state Duma in January 2018, the deputies from the liberal democratic party Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Yaroslav Nilov.
The bill of deputies from “Fair Russia” introduced in December 2017, offered to pay the amount of insurance pensions, the shortfall from 2016 to 2018. The authors emphasized that the initiative would not require additional expenses from the Federal budget and the Pension Fund spent about 963 billion rubles.
At the end of 2016, the government decided not to hold the usual indexation of pensions and replaced it with a one-time payment of five thousand rubles, which pensioners received in January 2017.
