Hotel in new York, protesters interrupted the speech of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Erdogan spoke to his Turkish supporters at the Marriott Marquis on times square, but he was interrupted by several protesters, the BBC reports.
“Are you a terrorist, get out of my country,” shouted one protester before he was pushed out of the courtroom.
Seen as protesters were pushed and hit on the head by men in suits. It is unclear whether these men puertopenasco participants of the action guards of the President or the guards of the hotel.
The demonstrators, later posted pictures of crowds in social networks, stated that their goal was public condemnation of the policies of President Erdogan of Turkey, Syria and Iraq.
Some of the protesters brought flags and banners in support of the Kurdish national army of Syrian Kurdistan.
Erdogan believes that these organizations are a continuation of the banned Kurdistan workers ‘ party, which for three decades fought for Kurdish autonomy in Turkey. He has repeatedly stated that he will not accept “the us Alliance with the Kurdish forces” fighting in Syria.
The police Department of new York said that five protesters were detained, but no arrests. Erdogan is in new York to participate in the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
