The transition to electric vehicles is becoming a trend for countries of the European Union.
Spain 2040 would prohibit the sale and registration of new vehicles powered by gasoline, diesel, and hybrid vehicles.
The Cabinet of Ministers decided therefore to abandon the transport, which leads to the ejection of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Also in 2050, so cars are banned from driving on the roads of Spain. However, it is not specified whether it concerns only Spanish cars, or the ban will also affect foreigners.
Also 2023 in all municipalities of the country with a population of over 50 thousand people will have to equip special zones for environmentally friendly transport. Also gas stations will be required to install charging points for electric vehicles.
We will note, earlier similar decisions adopted in the UK and France. The transition to electric vehicles is actively lobbying the authorities of Denmark, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands – in these countries the ban on the sale of gasoline and diesel vehicles will take effect in 2030.
Even earlier – until 2025 – to ban trade in polluting cars to avtodillerami in Norway. And in Georgia, intend to replace 90% of the auto market for electric vehicles by 2028.
We will remind, recently the court ordered two more German cities to restrict the movement of diesel cars. In particular, Cologne and Bonn next year, we are obliged to enter large-scale ban on the use of diesel vehicles of old models.
