In Ukraine celebrated father’s day is an annual festival in honor of the fathers which is celebrated in many countries around the world.
For the first time this festival was celebrated in the USA on June 19, 1910.It is believed that the initiator of such a day was a resident of the state of Washington on behalf of Mrs. Dodd. She wanted to Express my gratitude to my father, and in his face — to all caring fathers of America involved in the upbringing of children.
In Ukraine father’s Day did not become an official holiday, but attempts to do this have been made repeatedly. In particular, it was proposed to establish father’s Day at the state level on the third Sunday of September.
In 2013, the corresponding draft presidential Decree was supported by the parliamentarians, however, did not wait for signatures.
Therefore, Ukraine celebrates National father’s day on the international calendar – the third Sunday of June. In 2017, this day fell on June 18.
Note that for the thousands of children whose fathers are currently fighting for the independence of Ukraine in the ATO area, this day is truly a precious occasion.
