The us Agency for patents and trademarks has published a patent application from Apple that describes a foldable display for smartphones.
The smartphone from Apple will be possible to open and close like a book. According to reports, the company invested in the development of flexible OLED displays from LG and construction of a factory for their production. The new patent States that the flexible display can be made by technology LCD, OLED and microLED.
“The screen will include pixel arrays formed from components of the liquid crystal panel (LCD), electrophoretic pixels, organic light emitting pixels with led backlight, pixels formed from crystals of semiconductor LEDs electrically display pixel or pixels based on other technologies”, — stated in the document.
