Scientists from the University of London Queen Mary taught the bees to play football.
Bees placed in the field where they had to roll the ball into the hole in the center.
To show an example, the researchers used sticks in yellow and black stripes that mimic the coloration of insects. For each successful attempt bumblebees gave a sweet syrup.
Scientists have found that it was enough to teach several individuals, so they can show the new skills to colleagues. After a while, all the bees follow the actions of relatives or pilot sticks, learn to earn treats by playing football, reports the journal Science.
