The matter with the Prosecutor’s office.
The Prosecutor’s office of Odessa region began criminal proceedings in connection with the adoption of the city Council’s decision to change the names of streets and lanes and return them to the Soviet place names.
It is noted that in the decision seen signs of a criminal offense under part 2 of article 436-1 of the criminal code of Ukraine (production, distribution, Communist, Nazi symbols and propaganda of the Communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes).
As reported in Prosecutor’s office, pre-trial investigation is entrusted to investigative Department of Ukraine in Odessa region.
We will remind, the Odessa city Council returned to the old names of the street Tereshkova, Marshala Zhukova Prospekt, ulitsa Belinskogo, grandma, Biryukova, Goncharova, oberski, Badaeva, and Bogdanov, as they are not subject to dekommunizatsionnye of the law.
