The organizers of “Eurovision” has commented on sanctions against Kiev.
The organizers of the Eurovision song contest commented on in the media published information about sanctions that will supposedly introduce the prohibition of entry to Ukraine of representatives of the Russian Federation.
On the website of the Swiss tabloid Blick on Wednesday evening, March 28, published an article, which implies that the organizers of the international song contest “Eurovision” is ready to impose sanctions against Kiev.
The authors refer to the Director General of the European broadcasting Union (EMI), which owns the rights to the contest.
Ingrid Deltenre criticized Kiev’s decision to ban entry to Russian contestant Yulia Samoilova.
“The behavior of Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable, – quotes its Swiss edition. – I am deeply saddened due to the fact that “Eurovision” is used for political games. Eurovision must give pleasure and unite millions of people, not to set them against each other.”
Further, using indirect speech, the publication claimed that if the situation does not change in the coming weeks, Ukraine will apply sanctions up to suspension of the contest.
In EVEY correspondent, Deutsche Welle confirmed given direct speech Ingrid Deltenre, but noted that I can not answer for other findings of the newspaper, including information about what the Union supposedly is considering sanctions against Ukraine.
“We are working hard to ensure that all 43 participants of” Eurovision “were able to perform at the competition this year”, – said the European broadcasting Union. At the same time, if “one of the participants breaks the rules of the contest”, after the vote can consider “certain measures” against the offender, said the organization.
We will remind, on 22 March, the security Service of Ukraine for three years denied entry to Ukraine of Russian contestant Yulia Samoilova.
