The Russians do not feel the need to backup data

ESET, the developer of systems of information protection, conducted a study on the topic of relationship of Russians and citizens of CIS countries to the issue of computer security. The data obtained was not very encouraging conclusion: the majority of respondents regularly neglects the basic rules of protection of private information in the first place as a backup.

As it turned out, 59 percent of survey participants do not bother creating backups, i.e. all necessary information is stored only in one place, and nothing more. 34% of respondents also reported that the disable auto-updates of the OS, as it is known, greatly affects the security of the PC. But that’s not the most interesting: almost a third of respondents used the same password for all their accounts in one way or another personal information is stored.

It is generally out of the ordinary: taking possession of that password, the hackers can steal photos, money and more users, such a high level of carelessness. Well, now some of those who do not learn from the mistakes of others: from the beginning of the century, however, there have been numerous outbreaks of certain viruses, and by far the most effective method of infection is to send the Trojan via e-mail. It turns out that 11 percent of Russians without a doubt open attachments in emails from unknown senders. Conclusions from the above each DIY.
