Russian state television has refused to pay $ 120 million for the screening of world Cup matches in 2018.
The amount of 120 million for demonstration of a tournament asked the international football Federation (FIFA), which is three times more than the amount that Russian TV channels have paid for the show held in Brazil 2014 FIFA world Cup.
The rights to broadcast the FIFA confederations Cup 2017 has also not sold. It is noted that FIFA has rejected a joint counter-proposal of the First channel, VGTRK and “Match TV”. The negotiations are not completed.
The contract with Globo to broadcast the 2014 world Cup, was imprisoned for eight years before the tournament.
The confederations Cup will be held from 17 June to 2 July in four cities of Russia: Kazan, Sochi, Saint-Petersburg and Moscow. The tournament will bring together eight teams. In group A will perform the national teams of Russia, Portugal, New Zealand and Mexico, in group b — team of Cameroon, Chile, Australia and Germany.
The world championship will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018. The tournament matches will be played in 11 cities across the country.
