The Astrakhan garrison military court has published on its website the results of the consideration of some criminal cases. One of them is about the destruction of the latest modifications vosmidesyatki — BTR-82. The incident occurred in the spring of this year.
Guilty of the destruction of the APC recognized the soldier Seeds Merezhnikov, who decided to build a fire for cooking for about a disguised armored vehicle.
BTR-82 during the training sessions was covered with a camouflage net, a tarp and dry grass, which erupted from the fire divorced. The result was a destroyed ammunition and military equipment for total amount of RUB 28 011 684 87 kopecks (490 thousand dollars).
The court did not seek financial damages from a member, appointed him a six months disciplinary military unit.
