The Russian foreign Ministry believe that the size of the US diplomatic mission in Russia should be reduced to 300 people.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia threatened the United States with the expulsion of another 150 employees of the us Embassy.
This is with reference to the Director of the Department of North America of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Georgy Borisenko RIA Novosti reported.
Thus, Moscow is taking revenge “for the situation around the Russian diplomatic property in the United States.”
“As for the answer, we have said, including publicly, that in diplomacy there is an unbreakable principle of reciprocity, and the Americans know about it… don’t exclude any options, including the establishment of a real parity in the number of employees of diplomatic missions,” said Borisenko.
According to him, at this time, the U.S. Embassy employs 455 employees, while in the US, only 300 Russian diplomats.
“The number of American personnel in Russia should sink to the level of 300 people or less,” – said the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry.
