The Russian Federation has one last chance to return to compliance with missile Treaty – Stoltenberg

У РФ есть последний шанс вернуться к соблюдению ракетного договора, - СтолтенбергIf the Russian Federation will not adhere to the terms of the INF Treaty, “there are many potential ways in which NATO can respond.”

NATO has “a lot of potential paths” for an answer, if Russia will continue to violate the terms of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range nuclear forces (INF). This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

“Russia is the last chance,” – said Stoltenberg.

The NATO Secretary General stressed that if Russia will not adhere to the terms of the INF Treaty, “there are many potential ways in which NATO can respond.”

Earlier, Stoltenberg said that the priority for NATO issues are relations with Russia, the conflict in Ukraine, terrorism and cyber attacks. He noted that Russia is one of the reasons for increase in military spending of the Alliance.

We should add that the foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas spoke against the deployment of new nuclear medium-range missiles in Europe.

As is known, on 4 December the Secretary of state of the United States Mike Pompeo said that the United States will cease to adhere to the provisions of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range within 60 days, if the Russian Federation will not return to the fulfillment of undertaken obligations.

Later, the German government welcomed the United States decision to postpone the withdrawal from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range, and added that now the fate of the contract depends on Russia.
