The Russian economy might face recession.
The strengthening of sanctions against Russia could lead to a recession, the head of the accounts chamber of the Russian Federation Alexey Kudrin. He stated this on Wednesday, October 10.
“The sanctions create risks for growth in the coming years. There are already scenarios of the Central Bank, ACRA that such sanctions are being considered, are in discussions that could lead to recession next year”, – said Kudrin.
“We must clearly realize: if sanctions are to be obtained, the targets that are set by the President, become practically unattainable for many indicators,” he added.
Therefore, today Russia’s foreign policy should be aimed “to reduce tensions with other countries and at least the conservation and reduction of the sanctions regime, rather than increasing,” – said Kudrin.
