MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The Rosselkhoznadzor on March 6, introduced temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia pigs from South Africa and Kenya in connection with the registration in these countries hotbeds of African swine fever (ASF). This is stated in the materials Department.
“Rosselkhoznadzor on March 6, 2020 has introduced temporary restrictions on import into the Russian Federation from the entire territory of the Republic of South Africa domestic pigs and captive wild pigs, semen of domestic pigs in-vivo embryos of domestic pigs, slaughter products of swine waste and manure from pigs, used equipment for keeping, slaughter and butchering, hunting trophies, and of products containing pork, with exception of the following products treated by technologies that ensure the destruction of ASF virus”, – stated in the materials.
Similar restrictions apply to Kenya. At the same time imposed temporary restrictions on transit through the territory of the Russian Federation in domestic pigs and captive wild pigs from these countries.
Besides, the Rosselkhoznadzor on March 6, introduced temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia of domestic sheep and goats from Algeria because of an outbreak of the plague of small ruminants in this country.
