The process of verification of prisoners in the Donbass

In the Donbas began the verification process prisoners, agreed by the humanitarian sub-group of the Trilateral contact group in Minsk

This was announced by the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian sub-group TKG Irina Gerashchenko in Facebook.

“Today, finally, it began verification of statements of persons who have committed crimes against Ukraine, but which under the legislation can not be pardoned for the release of our hostages, while these individuals do not want to return to occupied territory,” she wrote.

Gerashchenko noted that we are talking about several hundred citizens, so this monitoring is going to take time.

“Really believe and want to do everything to ensure that this verification has brought us finally to the day of liberation of the hostages. Four months, we in the humanitarian group in Minsk agreed on the involvement of international organizations in the verification process. Today, this process started with the participation of the Ombudsman’s office, the SBU and the coordination of the OSCE”, – wrote Gerashchenko.

“Unfortunately, the number of hostages in the occupied territories is increasing at the expense of civilians who are detained and make spurious accusations of espionage, sabotage, terrorist attacks… For today hostages 128, on Thursday became aware of another illegally detained Ukrainians. For the release of ALL ready to compromise,” she added.

Recall, the verification of the lists of hostages was to be launched on April 18, but then the representatives of the militants ripped it off.
