After the death of the former head of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh at the hands of Shiite rebels who fled to Saudi Arabia, President Hadi called on his loyal troops to regain control of Sana’a.
Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who fled to Riyadh in an armed uprising, the Houthis had called on Yemen citizens to resist the paramilitary rebel group “Ansar Allah”.
The head of state ordered troops under his control to launch an attack on Sana’a with the support of the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia. Vice President Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar was commissioned with the support of government forces advance toward the capital.
