This year the creators of the film “Axe” (Hatchet) celebrate 10-year anniversary of the franchise, and prepare a wonderful surprise for all their fans. It was announced in advance that the fall will be a festive tour, which will play old tapes of the series. So it was assumed. But imagine the surprise and delight of fans, when last night the Director and screenwriter Adam green came on the scene in the cinema ArcLight Hollywood in Los Angeles and announced that in fact, now they will show the fourth film from the series “Axe” under the name “VICTOR CROWLEY” (Victor Crowley)!
In my opinion, it’s just incredible!
The picture was shot in strict secrecy. Kane Hodder, a longtime performer of the role of the monstrous villain, of course. Parry Shen, lit up in all three parts, too. And Adam green at the helm.
The synopsis reads:
In 2007, nine people were literally torn to pieces in the swamps of Louisiana. Over the last ten years the only survivors, Andrew young kept saying, as if the massacre perpetrated horrible Victor Crowley from local legends, but the guy no one believed. And now the fate of Andrew returns to the scene of the tragedy to push nose-to-nose with the bloodthirsty Ghost from the past.
Replace the names with another “Axe” in the name of the antagonist, probably suggests that the creators are trying to reboot the franchise to attract a new audience. In addition, it is clearly similar to the situation with a series of “Texas chainsaw massacre”which will be continued soon in the film “leatherface”.
About the films “Victor Crowley” is not known. Now, as planned, a new “Axe” is sent on tour in selected cinemas and genre events. Including 26 August, it will be shown at the festival FrightFest in London. Looking forward to news of any promotional materials and, of course, the trailer!
