The Pontiff had a meeting with the Primate of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, members of the Permanent Synod and the metropolitans.
The Pope invited the bishops of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Rome. The two-day meeting will take place on 5 and 6 July.
It is noted that Pope Francis had decided to invite the 5 and 6 July 2019 to Rome Archbishop, members of the Permanent Synod and the metropolitans of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.
The meeting will be attended by the heads of Dicastery of the Roman Curia dealing with issues that concern the country.
“This meeting of the Holy Father wishes to Express his closeness to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, which provides pastoral Ministry both at home and in different places of the world”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that the meeting will be another opportunity to deepen information about the life and needs of Ukraine in order to determine the ways in which the Greek-Catholic Church, all the better to devote himself to the preaching of the gospel, to make a contribution in support of the suffering and promote peace.
