Statistics on carrying out secret investigative actions agreed to disclose only in Ukraine.
In 2016, the National police has more than 50 thousand times followed by citizens of Ukraine. This is reported by Ukrainian news, received the response agencies on request regarding the covert investigative actions (unauthorized access).
“So, in 2016 and the only investigative units of national police were sent to the courts of 52.9 thousand petitions for NSD. Still 15.5 thousand applicants came to the courts in the 1st quarter of 2017. Up to 90% of cases (49 thousand in 2016 and 14.3 thousand in 2017), the courts are met. Only 5 thousand of cases, investigators were refused”, – stated in the message.
Just “under observation” state courts are allowed to deliver in 2016 21.2 thousand people, and another 6.7 per thousand in January-March 2017. Relatively 17.6 thousand citizens of NSD was conducted.
Only by “tapping” during this period were sent to court 31,7 thousands of requests. Most of them were satisfied.
It is noted that only Natspolitsiya responded to editorial request. All other law enforcement agencies for various reasons refused to provide such data.
“Even the numbers of national police, it turns out that each year, under the surveillance of the state is the population of an average Ukrainian town. And then there are the SBU, NABOO, GFS, which also have such powers. They don’t hide their stats, the figure could grow significantly. And this is only the official information about legal surveillance,” writes the Agency.
