Ukraine’s first plant for recycling are planning to build within three years.
According to the decision on “the Budget of Kyiv for the year 2019”, the country’s first garbage recycling plant in the city intend to build up to the end of 2021. The cost of construction of such a plant is estimated at 3.7 billion UAH. Previously, the city wants to attract an investor who will help to build a plant for recycling.
The design work from the city budget plan to allocate UAH 4 million. As noted, by the end of this year, the level of readiness of the object should be 0.1%.
Recall that Kiev produces more than 1.2 million tonnes of waste per year. Of them, Ukraine’s largest landfill №5 in the village of Pidhirtsi in Obukhiv district of Kyiv region is 25 miles from downtown – imported 460 million t annually. Now the polygon is on the verge of ecological disaster. The closure of the landfill is delayed because of Kyiv during this time and not the alternative.
