The people of Kiev explained why the capital was enveloped in a thick smog

According to forecasters, the night and morning of 9 March in Kiev will remain a fog.

Kiev is suffering again from smog, which is caused by thick fog and no wind.

This was reported in the capital city Council.

The wind speed does not exceed 3 meters per second, which causes the so-called temperature inversion: a change in temperature of the layer and the absence of wind does not rise up the bottom layer of the atmosphere,- said the officials.

The Council added that it could depart as soon as you change weather conditions, in particular, the intensity of air movement.

According to forecasters, the night and morning of 9 March in Kiev will remain a fog. The visibility will be 200 – 500 m.
