The Pentagon has accused Assad’s possession of chemical weapons

James Mattis proposed to resolve the issue through diplomatic channels.

The regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has preserved some amount of chemical weapons. This was stated by the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis in a press conference in tel Aviv.

“I can authoritatively say that they kept some of the (chemical weapons – ed.). This is a violation of the resolutions of the UN security Council, and it will be solved through diplomacy,” said Mattis.

The Pentagon also asked tossed whether the Syrian military aircraft to the Russian base in Latakia, to which he replied that Syria does rassredotochit their planes.

“They dispersed to their planes, no doubt. They would move their planes in the last days,” – said the Minister.
