The Parliament speaker has described Russia as a “primordial enemy of Ukraine”

Спикер Рады назвал Россию "исконным врагом Украины"Parubiy appealed to Ukrainians on the Day of Kruty Heroes.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy paruby, in address to the nation on the occasion of Day of memory of Kruty Heroes, called Russia a “traditional enemy of Ukraine”, which, according to the head of the Parliament, our country is at war for a hundred years.

“A century of almost continuous war lasts with the age-old enemy of Ukraine, with Russia. After the proclamation of independence of Ukraine on 22 January 1918 the Bolsheviks began the aggression against the young Ukrainian state. But the enemy, like a century ago and today are not considered essential, the spirit of our soldiers. Cool and Bakhmach – two small railway stations have become eternal symbols of the invincibility of all the defenders of Ukraine”, – stated in the text of the appeal Parubiy.

According to the speaker, then statehood in 1918 as well as in 2014, was saved by the volunteers. “In Kiev, several hundred Ukrainian boys students did not hesitate to agreed to join the ranks of the Ukrainian army in defense of the country. They have not had military experience, however, full of faith and went to battle with six thousand army of invaders”, – said paruby.
