The OSCE said the reason for the escalation in the Luhansk region

In Luhansk the Special monitoring mission has recorded an increase in the number of violations of ceasefire regime, including 145 explosions, which, according to them, were related to military exercises of the militants. About it LIGA.net the press service of the mission.

The evening of March 21, being occupied in Kadyivka (former Stakhanov – ed.), observers heard 12 explosions of uncertain origin at a distance of 4-10 km in the Western direction.

That night in Severodonetsk (74 km North‑West of Luhansk), the SMM team heard 14 explosions of uncertain origin 20 km to the South‑Southeast.

March 22 from its position near the occupied village of Uspenka members of the patrol heard 10-15 explosions, estimated as the shots of artillery guns, six explosions, like shots from tanks (T‑64), as well as fire from heavy machine guns and small arms – all on a distance of 2-5 km to the North‑North‑West.

Near the occupied village Kruglik (31 km South‑West of Luhansk) the observers heard 11 explosions, evaluated them as the artillery fire from 7 km to the North.

While in Starowka, the OSCE has recorded five explosions, assessed as fire from artillery in the 12-13 km North‑North‑West.

“According to the mission, all of these violations in these areas were associated with exercise with live firing. In addition, the SMM recorded tanks in areas near Uspenka and Kruglik”, – noted in press service.
