The OSCE has recorded nearly 16 thousand violations of silence regime in Donbas

The observation mission of the OSCE in the Donbass has recorded an increase in the number of violations of the ceasefire in the ATO zone.

Special monitoring mission of the OSCE in the week from 11 to 17 December, recorded almost 16 thousand violations of silence regime in Donbas. On Tuesday, December 19, reports the press service of the OSCE with reference to the head of the OSCE mission in Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan.

According to him, during the period from 11 to 17 December, according to preliminary data, the SMM, the OSCE has recorded nearly 16 thousand violations of the ceasefire, which indicates a 35% increase compared to the previous week.

“We note with concern the sharp deterioration of the situation. The number of violations of ceasefire reached the level that we have not fixed it since February of this year,” he said.

Also Apakan called on the parties to fulfill their obligations.

“The normalization of the situation when civilians can return to normal daily life without fear of being shot or run into mines is the first step towards a lasting and sustainable peace,” he added.
