The only Ukrainian incinerator started working after repair

September 11 incinerator Energy utilities Kievteploenergo resumed operation after scheduled repairs and again started to accept solid waste.

This was reported by the press service of Kyiv city state administration.

It is noted that after the annual planned repairs of the equipment ready to go in winter – to turn waste into useful energy to provide Kiev heat and hot water.

Recall that on August 10 the plant’s Energy is shut down for scheduled repair works. This was needed in order to prepare the equipment to work in emergency mode during the heating period.

The restoration of the plant will proceed gradually. First, run a one pot, and later other boilers. Reception of household waste, the plant will also increase gradually. The first three days the plant will take 250 tons of waste, and then 500 tons, and in the end come out on your operating mode – 750 tons. Such a smooth entry into the work necessary for the safe operation of equipment, stockpiling and preparation of waste for incineration.

“For months we have repaired the bunker household waste, performed with their own forces repairs of boilers, pumping equipment and valves, and also led in the proper state of the installation of two boilers. We have implemented all the necessary work to ensure that the plant could operate in the winter. Today, the Energy, Ukraine’s first incineration plant. Therefore, we can not afford, so he stood, because his work is extremely important for Kiev. The plant burns about 25% of the capital waste, which is almost 750 tons of garbage per day. Those waste not taken to landfill – we’re fully utilizes them, and instead we get heat energy to residents of housing estates Poznyaki and Osokorki” – said the Director of the plant Energy Serhiy Krykun.

Since 2011, the plant was implemented a large-scale investment program. In 2014 was built a bridge connecting the refinery with the municipal heating systems. Heat obtained from the combustion of garbage, enough to provide heating and hot water for about 300 high-rise buildings. By 2020 the incineration plant, Moscow’s authorities plan to finish the installation of modern flue gas cleaning system.
