The issue of licensing will be handled by a separate Department.
The national Bank of Ukraine has decided to centralise licensing processes and establish a new structural unit – the Department of licensing.
This is stated in the message NBU.
The Department of licensing to perform the functions of registration and licensing of banks, their separate subdivisions, approval of acquisition (increase) of substantial participation in banks, approving the appointments of Bank executives, as well as the functions of granting General licenses for currency transactions.
In addition, from 6 April 2017, the Department of licensing will also perform the functions of:
• licensing of non-Bank financial institutions to transfer funds in national currency without opening of accounts;
• registration of payment systems, payment system participants and operators of payment infrastructure services;
• the issuance of licenses to legal entities for the provision of services for collection.
