These banks have difficulties with customer service.
The national Bank warned banks and other financial sector actors that on Tuesday, some Ukrainian banks, as well as some commercial enterprises and public sector were subjected to external attack by an unknown virus.
“As a result of these attacks, these banks have experienced difficulties with customer service and banking operations. The national Bank believes that protecting banking infrastructure from fraud in cyberspace appropriately and attempts of cyber attacks on information systems of banks will be neutralized,” – said the NBU.
The regulator added that it is monitoring the situation and will report on the current state of cyber security in the banking system.
Recall that the hacker attack suffered by the company “Kyivenergo”. Also, the publication indicates that the object of the attack was to “Ukrenergo”.
The Russian edition of the TJ, citing a source inside one of the companies that are directly faced with the attack of the virus, writes that the network has been infected with a new form of the virus-ransomware resembling WannaCry.
The employee told me that his computer spontaneously rebooted, after which the system supposedly began checking the hard drive. Then he saw that the same happens on all the computers in the office: “I realized that there is an attack, turned off my computer, and when included, were already red lettering about bitcoin and the money.”
